A Kumon Franchise offers you the following opportunities:
The Kumon Programme was started in Japan in 1954 when Toru Kumon, the founder, desired to help his child foster a mind-set of self-learning. From these humble beginnings the programme has grown to becoming the largest independent education provider in the world, with currently over 4 million Kumon students in over 50 countries and regions across the globe.
Since 1997, Kumon South Africa is a fully owned subsidiary of the Kumon Institute of Education in Japan and currently has over 200 Centres in South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Namibia and Zambia.
The Kumon franchise is a business that offers the Kumon Maths and English Programmes to children of all ages and abilities from a Kumon Study Centre, together with homework study. The Kumon Programmes are suited to home-based learning, with facilitation and support provided to families through both in-Centre (physical) as well as online classes.
The ideal Kumon franchisee has a heart for developing people through education, and is interested in owning and managing his/her own business within the support framework of a franchise network.
Our franchisees come from all kinds of backgrounds, not just education, but it is essential to have an aptitude for Maths and English and a commitment to continuous learning and development. An applicant needs to be eligible to work in the country where he/she is applying for a Kumon Centre.
Each new Kumon Centre starts with a comprehensive business plan, and the franchisee applicant is provided with support during this process. The training for new Kumon franchisees consists of 10 days of training, conducted on consecutive week days (i.e. excluding weekends).
Training takes place in in Johannesburg (and via Zoom during times of social distancing). Once the Centre is opened, further training on the unique Kumon Maths and English Worksheets and Methodology is provided on a frequent basis and in this way Kumon franchisees are always improving their skills and abilities.
The cost of the franchise is a minimum start-up capital of approximately R60 000,00-R100 000,00. The costs are variable depending on location, choice and preparation of the venue as well as current market conditions. This amount does include the license fee to operate the Kumon Centre. Additional working capital is dependent on what each franchisee would need to ensure financial stability while growing the business.
A Kumon Franchise offers you the following opportunities:
- Being a part of an INTERNATIONAL FRANCHISOR that has more than 60 YEARS of experience
- MODEST start-up costs
- EXCELLENT initial as well as ongoing TRAINING and SUPPORT
- PHYSICAL as well as ONLINE classes, so you are able to offer FLEXIBLE LEARNING options
